These Go To Eleven: Part 1 of 11

Because I like to copy what a lot of other blogs have done better, I’m going to post my own eleven 11-worthy songs over the next eleven days.
Three Dog Night isn’t exactly a band that you think of wanting to turn up extra loud, although if you can listen to ‘Joy To The World’ and not want to sing as loud as possible, there might be something wrong with you. All the same, some of their lesser-known songs are the better ones, and ‘Never Been To Spain’ is one that has been on several mixes of mine throughout the years, ever since I inadvertently discovered it on a multi-disc mix from my friend Chelsea. It’s not a screamer of a song – more of a slow burn groove – but its gradual intensity leaves me wishing it lasted twice or even three times as long.
